ATCC Genome of the month
Clostridium difficile is a nosocomial pathogen that can cause symptoms ranging from antibiotic-associated diarrhea to pseudomembranous colitis. Strain 630 is a virulent, multidrug-resistant strain that was isolated from a patient in Zurich, Switzerland in 1982. ATCC offers the culture and the genomic DNA from the fully-sequenced strain 630.
